For the tenth time the U15 boys from Subiaco AFC in Perth in Western Australia will fly the 13.867 kilometers to Frederikshavn and participated in this summers Cup No. 1. And the annual trip to Europe for the U15 team is a solid tradition in the big club with 60 youth teams and 15 senior teams.
“It’s a “once in a lifetime” experience for the boys! They are looking forward to play against teams from all over the world – and the most important thing: To make new friendships, some maybe for the rest of their lives”, says Craig Bingham, Communication Manager for the Subiaco U15 team, which has Mr. Gareth Davies as head coach. The team has been participating in the National Premier League with the 20 best clubs in Western Australia.
Subiaco AFC is a club established in a part of the city of Perth based on a great number of Italian immigrants who came to Australia in the last century. The area and the club have a historic link to a small Italian town also named Subiaco, about 40 kilometres west of Rome. That’s why the colours in the club-suit is the same as the famous AS Roma!
“ I am confident that the plays will represent our club and Australia with pride, and have the times of their lives at Cup No 1 and the week after at Gothia Cup, “ says Craig Bingham.
