Cup No. 1 is a popular youth tournament all over the world – and certainly also in Norway: The number of Norwegian teams signed up for this summer’s tournament has already reached 50 here in the end of March, which is doubled up compared to last year.
One of the Norwegian clubs, who has been guests in Frederikshavn for many years and are coming back for 2017 is Eiger FK – and last year the girls from Eiger FK won the G18 finale against Dallas Texans (photo).
But many new clubs from Norway have also signed up such as Beisfjord IL from the Narvik-area far north, SK Haugar from the Eastern part of Norway, Klebe SK from the south and Nesbyen in Mid-Norway.
“Together with our travel-agents in Norway we have done great efforts to tell more Norwegian clubs of the advantages and qualities of participating in Cup No 1 i.e. the guarantee of international matches and the friendly and safe atmosphere at our tournament. We are very happy, than so many teams from Norway have accepted our invitation until now – and we expect the number of sign ups to increase further towards the deadline in May,” says tournament manager, Henrik Andersen.
