Approximately 22,000 people are living in Frederikshavn proper, and with this size it is perfect for a youth tournament as Cup No.1. It is a nice town and it offers a large variety of shops and restaurants – which is not least to the great delight of the many parents who traditionally follow their children to Denmark. Cup No.1 is an intimate and familial tournament, focusing on quality, proximity, fun and community for the participants.
Frederikshavn is situated completely to the water and is famous for its many fine beaches. In Frederikshavn proper – just a few kilometres from the pedestrian zone – lies the only Palm Beach in Denmark. Here we have six beachvolley fields and a couple of Beach Soccer fields. This is where the novelty of the year in Cup No.1 – Beach Soccer – will be held during the week.
Frederikshavn is situated in Northern Jutland, which is the most popular holiday place in Denmark. From Frederikshavn there is only 40 kilometres to Skagen, where the Skagerrak and the Kattegat meet on Grenen (the Northernmost point of Jutland). A visit to the island Læsø is highly recommendable. The ferry for Læsø has more daily departures from Frederikshavn.
